In 1998, the parish of East Baton Rouge approved a Tax Proposal to fund improvements to enhance Facilities/Technology, Discipline, and Compensation. The Facilities and Technology portion of the Plan is focused on upgrading facilities for optimal safety, health and comfort and providing technology for the acquisition of basic skills and tools for the workplace so that students are competitive.

The Plan was proposed to the taxpayers of East Baton Rouge Parish as a result of extensive consideration of the community's response to earlier facilities tax proposals and input from many citizens in the community in the areas of facilities and technology, compensation, and discipline and alternative education. The Plan reflects the publicly stated will of the community by providing a Plan that is financed through a sales tax on a " pay as you go " basis for five years .

As Program Managers for the Tax Plan, CSRS/The Facility Group is hosting this website to inform taxpayers, parents and students of the current status of the Facilities portion of the Plan. The web site is also designed to provide prospective Designers, Contractors, and Goods and Services providers with information on Tax Plan Contracting Opportunities.

We are providing as baseline information, a Synopsis of the Tax Plan Schedule and Budget as presented in the Tax Plan Proposal. This document outlines the approved budgets and prioritizes the projects as planned by the School Board and as approved by the Taxpayers. The purpose of this website is to inform the public on a continual basis of the actual schedule and budget of the Tax Plan projects as we implement the plan.
